Southern Science Park’s 3D printing industry chain gradually takes shape

  On December 26, 2018, DIGITIMES reported that the Ministry of Science and Technology held a "Southern Science Park Additive Manufacturing Cluster Briefing" on December 25th in the Southern Taiwan Science Park. Ten plus domestic 3D printing materials, equipment, software services and application manufacturers, together with the Ministry of Science and Technology's new 3D printing company gathered for the event, including: Tongtai Machine & Tool Co., Ltd., XTHINTECH MATERIALS TECHNOLOGY CO., LTD., CHUNG YO MATERIALS CO., LTD., Everyoung BioDimension, CHOICE Biotech, and T3D etc., highlighting the attraction of Southern Taiwan for the 3D printing industry, which has formed a complete top-, mid-, and down-stream 3D printing supply chain.

  At the end of 2017, ITRI also established a 3D printing smart medical manufacturing demonstration area in the Kaohsiung branch of the Southern Science Park. With the current trend for precision medical products, ITRI worked closely with artificial dental and bone manufacturers r to develop 3D printed medical materials. The area will be expanded to include aerospace and industrial applications so that the Park's aerospace and related metal industries can enter the emerging 3D printing supply chain and expand South Taiwan's 3D printing cluster.
