MOST to focus on three major areas to create complete 3D printing chain

MOST hopes to establish a 3D printing eco-chain in Taiwan through forward-looking technology research, sharing and verification platforms, production and industry-academia partnerships for value-added innovation projects. For example, the team at Tainan’s National Cheng Kung University laminated manufacturing R&D team aims to improve the quality of metal powders for laminated manufacturing machine products. Elsewhere, the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology team developed a light-concentrating 3D printer that uses a mobile phone or a flat-panel screen source to harden a liquid resin. This enables anyone, with just an ordinary smart phone, plus resin materials, and an app, to create high-resolution 3D objects at low cost.
