3D printing to focus on three key areas. Premier says public will see results.

According to a report by the Science and Technology News on March 21, 2019, Premier Su listened to a report by the Ministry of Science and Technology's "Laminate Manufacturing (3D Printing) Technology --the Status and Future Prospects". The Ministry of Science and Technology focused on superior technology in metals, polymers and biotechnology. These three major fields are oriented to practical applications in medical treatment, offering scenarios of value creation. MOST also also cooperated with the Ministry of Economic Affairs to integrate domestic academic research and development in 3D printing and to create academic and interdisciplinary R&D teams, aimed at developing the  related equipment systems, processes and materials. It also aims to train software professionals. The Ministry of Science and Technology also cited examples of cooperation between a number of academic and industry research and technology teams. It aims to establish a complete industrial chain, to integrate and optimize the domestic industry-with university research and development alliance mechanisms, to  support domestic 3D print industry development.
